Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" area. It is a part of the island that has been called "the West Island." West Island has a lot of diverse communities. People who have never known about it may mistake it for a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often cited, however her short stay did not last long. Brugel grew on Courtice close to Oshawa within Ontario. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew every dance partner she was able to have. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. Once I outgrew male partners, that's when I gave up. There are many dancers who make the move to acting. As for Brugel, it was her drama teacher who nudged her into this path. One of her teachers suggested she take part in an audition for the annual school production. She was chosen to play the principal character in Anne of Green Gables after she tried out. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, she's appeared in over 60 productions both big and small. One of the most memorable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the sole Canadian on the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
